News Aloud

News Aloud is a Headline News style radio station that broadcasts your customized news stories. It reads the headlines and first few sentences of the top stories within 11 standard news topics (Tech, Sports, Health, etc.) and any number of additional topics created by your custom search words and phrases. During your commute, workout, work day, or anywhere your eyes are otherwise occupied, turn on News Aloud as your very own personalized “headline news radio” that broadcasts just the news and information that you want to hear. Why listen to gritty news selected by others that you don’t really want to know from around the world, when you can listen to timely content that you've specifically selected from your own Internet interests?
  News Aloud
  • Reads aloud headlines and the first few sentences of top news stories in a pleasant, easy-to-understand young woman’s voice
  • Displays each story on the screen, so that you can tap around to read stories at random
  • Intuitive play, pause, and skip forward/back buttons, just like the iPhone's built-in Music app
  • Double-tap to expand and display full articles from their source website
  • Adjust the number of stories in each of 11 standard topics -- Top Stories, Near You, World, U.S., Business, Elections, Technology, Entertainment, Sports, Science, and Health
  • Add as many custom topics as you like using standard search terms

Benefits of News Aloud

  • Listen to your customized new headlines and stories while driving, walking, in a meeting, at work, anywhere your eyes are otherwise occupied
  • Stay informed, even while you’re rushing around
  • Relax your eyes by listening to, instead of reading, your saved articles
  • Hands-free operation keeps you from getting pulled over for "texting while driving"
  • And most importantly, it could prevent an accident and save your and/or anothers' life
